Privacy policy
This policy explains what information Freedom Frontline collects through www.freedomfrontline1776.com, why we collect it, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email us at danjackie2014@gmail.com.
Who we are
Freedom Frontline
Email: danjackie2014@gmail.com
What we collect
- When you contact us. What you type into our forms, like your name, email address, phone number and message. We also note the page you sent it from and how you found us (for example a search engine or a link in a campaign).
- When you join our email list. Your email address and name if you give it. Our emails contain a tiny image that tells us whether an email was opened, and we record when you unsubscribe.
- When you become a member. Your email address and the name you give. You sign in with a link and a 6-digit code we email you, so there's no password to keep. If you pay for a membership, we keep your plan, its price, when it renews or ends, and the reference number from the service you paid through (Stripe on our website, Apple or Google in our app). We never see your card number.
- Bills you follow. If you ask to hear when a bill moves, we keep which bills you're following, with your membership.
- When you look up who represents you. The address or ZIP code you type is sent to the U.S. Census Bureau to find your districts. We don't keep it on our server. Your last lookup is remembered on your own device so you don't have to type it again.
- If you hold public office. We list elected officials from public sources. If you use the private link we send you to update your listing, we keep the photo and contact details you send and your permission to show the photo, and we check them before they appear.
- Our phone app. The app shows the same pages as this site, so everything here applies to it too. If you turn on alerts (for example when a bill you follow moves), your phone gives us a code to send them to. We keep that code with your membership, along with whether it's an iPhone or an Android phone. If you join in the app, Apple or Google takes the payment and tells us your membership's status and reference number; they don't share your card details with us. The app has no advertising or tracking tools.
- When you visit. Like every website, our server receives technical details such as your IP address and browser type. Our hosting keeps these in short-term logs for security and to fix problems. When you send a form, we also keep a scrambled code made from your IP address, not the address itself, to block spam.
- Visit counts. We count visits to see which pages are useful. This doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify you: we record the page, the site that sent you and the kind of device, with a code made from your connection that changes every day, so we can't follow you from one day to the next.
How we use it
- To answer your questions and provide what you asked for.
- To send our email newsletter, only if you signed up. Every newsletter has a link to unsubscribe.
- To run your membership: signing you in, opening members-only articles to you, and keeping your membership up to date with the service you paid through.
- To send the phone alerts you asked for, such as when a bill you follow moves. You can turn them off at any time.
- To understand, in general terms, how people use the site so we can improve it.
- To keep the site secure, prevent spam and meet our legal obligations, such as keeping tax records.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information. We share it only with the services that help us run this site and our business, and only so they can do that work for us:
- Railway hosts this website and its database, where the information described here is kept.
- Amazon Web Services (S3) stores photos and files uploaded to this site.
- SendGrid (Twilio) sends our emails.
- Stripe handles card payments. Your card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or keep your full card number.
- Apple runs the App Store. If you join in our iPhone app, Apple takes the payment and tells us whether your membership is active. Apple also delivers our alerts to iPhones.
- Google runs Google Play. If you join in our Android app, Google takes the payment and tells us whether your membership is active. Google also delivers our alerts to Android phones.
- Expo (650 Industries) passes our alerts to Apple and Google so they reach your phone. It receives the alert and your phone's alert code.
- The U.S. Census Bureau finds the districts for an address or ZIP code you look up. It receives what you typed, not who you are.
- Anthropic provides an AI assistant we may use behind the scenes, for example to help draft a reply to your message. It only processes what we give it to do that task.
- Google Fonts supplies this site's typefaces. Your browser loads them from Google, which receives your IP address and browser details.
- Facebook (Meta Platforms) shows our recent Facebook posts on the pages that have them, described under Cookies below.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar browser storage that the site needs to work, such as keeping you signed in as a member, counting the free articles you've read this month, remembering how you found us until you close the tab and saving a form with several steps that you haven't finished yet on your device.
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies of our own, and our visit counts work without cookies.
Our videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced player. When you open a page with a video or its picture, your browser loads them from YouTube (Google), which receives your IP address and browser details. YouTube says it doesn't keep information about you from the player unless you press play.
Our recent Facebook posts are shown in Facebook's own frame. When a page with them opens, Facebook (Meta Platforms) receives your IP address and browser details and may set its own cookies, especially if you're signed in to Facebook. Meta's privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep information only as long as we need it for the reason we collected it. Inquiries that didn't go ahead can be deleted whenever you ask. Your membership account stays until you delete it. Deleting it removes your membership details, the bills you follow and your phone alert codes too. When something is no longer needed, we delete it.
Your choices
You can:
- Ask for a copy of the information we have about you, or ask us to correct it.
- Ask us to delete your information, unless we have to keep it (for example, tax records).
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time with the link at the bottom of each one.
- Cancel a paid membership at any time: on our website if you joined there, in your iPhone's Settings if you joined through the App Store, or in Google Play if you joined there.
- Delete your account yourself from your account page, on our website or in our app. That also stops a membership paid on our website or through Google Play. One paid through the App Store has to be canceled in your iPhone's Settings, because only Apple can stop it.
- Turn phone alerts off in the app, or in your phone's settings.
To do any of these, email danjackie2014@gmail.com. Depending on where you live (for example in the UK, the EU or California), you may have more rights under local law, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Keeping it safe
Your information is sent over a secure connection and kept on services with strong security. No system is perfect, but we take care to protect what you share with us.
Children
This site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
